What is LUCAS PLUS?

LUCAS Plus (Q-switched Nd:YAG) is a high-power pigment laser that effectively removes colors & treat skin lesion using the 532nm and 1064nm wavelengths.

1064nm responds selectively to lesion of black and blue to destroy.

This wavelength is permeated throughout the skin and is able to treat the deep lesion in the skin such as tattoos and otas without scar.

532nm is used for pigment treatment on the epidermis such as freckles, blemishes and age spots with low wavelength.

Especially, the S Toning Mode of LUCAS PLUS, a special toning technique that irradiates with a pulse of 100 nanoseconds, is more effective in remarkable Melasma & Pigmented lesions treatment as well as skin tightening.

In addition, the MLA handpiece, which is an advantage of the Pico-laser system, can be used in LUCAS PLUS and is effective in treating scars, pore and improving skin tone.

PTP Mode (dual pulse mode)

LUCAS adopted the PTP (dual pulse mode), which constantly delivers dual pulse, high-output energy at very short intervals. With high and consistent output on a large area, the PTP Mode could improve the therapeutic effect by providing equational energy distribution all over the face. As a pulse is divided into two in the PTP Mode, it is associated with less injury to the surrounding tissues, less pain and faster regeneration, compared to the previous single pulse, at the same energy output. It is also associated with less hypo-pigmentation, PIH and other adverse effects. The PTP mode has been reported to be less painful and cause milder reactions to pigments, compared to single pulse of the same energy.

What is Laser Toning by LUCAS?

Laser have revolutionized the treatment of many dermatological conditions. One of these is the pigmentary disorders. Although many pigmentary disorders have shown good results with laser treatment, the efficacy and safety of lasers for melasma is still controversial. Melasma is an acquired pigmentary disorder characterized by brownish hyperpigmented macules usually on the face.

Compared the clinical efficacy and adverse effects of low fluence Q switched Nd:YAG (1064nm) laser of LUCAS on patients with melasma and treatment by LUCAS Plus referred to as "laser toning" or "laser facial" for hyperpigmentation for 6 to 8 sessions achieved optimal results. LUCAS Toning is a gold standard for melasma treatment because it selectively destroys excess melanin cells and minimizes thermal diffusion toward the surrounding normal tissues.
